Do I qualify for the Discount Medicine Program?

As a patient of Blue Ridge Family Practice, Druid Hills Family Practice, Reynolds Children’s Center, Apple Valley Middle School, or William F. Stokes Dental Center, YOU can purchase discount medicines prescribed by your doctor.

What is the Discount Medicine Program?

The discount medicine program is available to patients of community health centers like Blue Ridge Community Health Services “the 340B Program”. As a patient of Blue Ridge Community Health Service, you may qualify to purchase your medicine at a discounted price.

Do I have to qualify for the slide fee to purchase discounted medicines?

You do not have to qualify for the slide fee to participate in this program. If you are a patient of Blue Ridge Community Health Services, you may purchase your medicine prescribed by your Blue Ridge Community Health Service doctor under this discount program, no matter what your income.

When does the Discount Medicine Program begin?

The Discount Medicine Program begins April 20, 2006.

Where do I purchase my medicines to receive the discount?

Fletcher Community Pharmacy.

Where is Fletcher Community Pharmacy?

Fletcher Community Pharmacy is located in the building directly behind and attached to Park Ridge Hospital. Park Ridge Hospital is located at the intersection of Naples Road and Howard Gap Road (about 5 miles from Blue Ridge Family Practice).

Can I choose another pharmacy other than Fletcher Community Pharmacy to purchase my medicines at a discount price?

You may get your medicines prescribed by your doctor from any pharmacy, but you must purchase your medicines at Fletcher Discount Pharmacy to receive the discount.

When is the Fletcher Community Pharmacy open?

Monday to Thursday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM., Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Fletcher Community Pharmacy is not open on Saturday or Sunday.

Does the Discount Medicine Program replace the Blue Script program?

The Discount Medicine Program does not replace the Blue Script program.

If you are eligible for the Blue Script program, you will take your prescription to Fletcher Community Pharmacy, pay $9 per prescription at Fletcher Community Pharmacy, and receive your medicine as prescribed by your doctor, beginning April 20, 2006.

Does the Discount Medicine Program replace the Share the Care Program?

The Discount Medicine Program does not replace the Share the Care program.

If you are eligible to receive medicine on the Share the Care Program, you will take your prescription to Fletcher Community Pharmacy, pay $9 per prescription at Fletcher Community Pharmacy, and receive your medicine as prescribed by your doctor, beginning July 1, 2006.

Does the Discount Medicine Program replace MAP?

The Discount Medicine Program does not replace MAP.

If you are eligible for the MAP program, you will still coordinate your MAP process at Blue Ridge Family Practice through our MAP coordinator. Beginning April 20, 2006, you will pay $9 per prescription at Fletcher Community Pharmacy and receive your medicine from MAP at Fletcher Community Pharmacy as prescribed by your doctor. If you have questions, ask to speak to Letti, our MAP Coordinator.

How much less will I pay for my medicine?

The price of each drug is different and charges are based on a sliding fee scale. You will not know the price you will pay until you purchase your medicine from the pharmacy.

What if I receive a prescription from another doctor or if I am in the hospital or emergency room and receive a prescription for my medicine?

You can only purchase outpatient discount medicines through this program if you are a patient of Blue Ridge Family Practice, Druid Hills Family Practice, Reynolds Children’s Center or the William F. Stokes Dental Center and if your prescription is from a doctor or a dentist from Blue Ridge Family Practice, Druid Hills Family Practice, Reynolds Children’s Center or the William F. Stokes Dental Center.

What if I am on Medicaid?

Patients on Medicaid are not eligible for this discount medicine program.

Medicaid patients can purchase their medicine from any participating Medicaid Pharmacy, including Fletcher Community Pharmacy.

Why did Blue Ridge change their pharmacy?

Blue Ridge Community Health Services requested proposals from local pharmacies to partner with Blue Ridge Community Health Services for this program. Blue Ridge Community Health Services selected a pharmacy from the response received to its request for proposal.
